UKRTRUBOIZOL<\/strong> has completed a strategic order for the production of large-diameter welded steel pipes (530-1020 mm) for the gas transportation system facilities of UKRTRANSGAS.<\/h5><\/div>

This was announced by the plant’s CEO, Pavel Steblovtsev. He has been heading the company for three years. Prior to that, Pavel worked at Megatex for 18 years.<\/p>\n

In recent years, this has been one of the most important orders for a domestic pipe manufacturer, with a volume of over 700 tons.<\/p>\n

The fulfillment of this order was preceded by thorough work, which involved not only the plant’s services, but also independent testing centers and laboratories, including the Y.Y. Osada Research and Design Institute of the Pipe Industry, independent inspection organizations, and logistics centers.<\/p>\n

One of the important tasks was the issue of logistics and timely delivery of steel sheet from China and obtaining metal of the required quality for the manufacture of pipes with characteristics that comply with both foreign regulatory documents and domestic requirements for main pipelines. Separate technical conditions were developed for the production and supply of thick-gauge rolled products, which provided for increased requirements for mechanical properties, chemical composition, and ultrasonic testing of sheet integrity. To ensure and obtain a high-quality product, the production and quality control of the sheet was carried out by an independent inspection body, SGS.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The pipes were manufactured on a modern production line commissioned at UKRTRUBOIZOL in 2020, which provides for a complete production cycle and quality control. In addition to the usual manufacturing and control methods, the pipes were produced according to the Customer’s specific technical requirements, which included: increased requirements for geometric parameters, pipe expansion (cold expansion of the perimeter by 0.3-1.2%), high-pressure testing on a hydraulic press, additional mechanical testing, ultrasonic testing of welded joints, and additional X-ray inspection of the end sections.<\/p>\n

During the manufacture of pipes, representatives of the Customer visited the enterprise for an audit. During the audit, technical tests were carried out, the physical and mechanical properties of the base metal of the pipes and welded joints were checked, and the entire technological chain of pipe production was monitored. Particular attention was paid to checking the availability and operability of technological equipment for pipe production and quality control (welding, expansion, hydrostatic testing, destructive and non-destructive testing methods, etc.) and the availability of highly qualified certified personnel. Thanks to the professional training of the personnel, a cohesive team, and motivated, educated, and proactive employees who contributed their experience and efforts to the implementation of this important order, the customer received high-quality products.<\/p>\n<\/div>

UKRTRUBOIZOL is Ukraine’s largest manufacturer of large-diameter steel electric-welded straight pipes, including those with external anti-corrosion and internal anti-corrosion or smooth coatings for main gas and oil pipelines, product pipelines, and general-purpose pipelines.<\/p>\n

The plant’s products are certified for compliance with the requirements of national, interstate, and international standards ISO 3183:2019, DSTU EN ISO 3183:2022 (ISO 3183:2019, IDT), DIN EN 10219-1,2, DIN EN 10217-1,3,5,6, DSTU 8943:2019, DSTU 9219:2023, DSTU 9218:2023, TU U 24.2\u201305757883\u2013095:2022, Technical Regulations for Pressure Equipment, CMU Resolution No. 27 dated January 16, 2019.<\/p>\n

The company has an integrated management system that meets the requirements of international standards: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, as confirmed by the independent certification body Bureau Veritas Certification. The welding process complies with EN ISO 3834-2, as confirmed by the independent certification body T\u00dcV AUSTRIA SERVICES GMBH.<\/p>\n<\/div>
